Redact PII from every prompt

Keep card numbers, social security numbers, and email addresses out of every prompt that Conjoin sends to an AI model. Policy also caps the AI spending of each project, team, or user at the budget that you set.

Send prompts to AI models with the sensitive data removed

The policy firewall checks every prompt and every response against the rules that you write. With a rule, Policy can replace a card number or another kind of personal data with a placeholder, or it can block a prompt about a topic outside the scope of your product.

The checks that Policy applies to each request

PII redaction

Policy finds phone numbers, card numbers, and the other kinds of personal data in its built-in rules, then replaces each match with a placeholder such as [REDACTED:phone_number] before Conjoin sends the prompt to a model.

Content inspection

For each rule, you can choose whether Policy checks prompts, responses, or both, and whether it redacts a match or blocks the whole message.

Budget controls

Give each project, team, or user a daily budget, a monthly budget, or both. Policy returns an error for every AI request beyond that budget, which caps what each of them can spend in a period.

Topic blocking

Policy can block whole topics, such as legal advice or medical diagnosis, so an assistant that you build for one job answers questions about that job alone.

Audit logging

Policy logs every decision with the matching rule, the resulting action, and the content both before and after redaction. Export those logs for a compliance review.

Alert notifications

Conjoin sends you a notification whenever a policy rule matches, so you can see which rules match most and adjust them to the prompts that your users send.

Replace personal data with typed placeholders in both directions

Create one redaction rule that lists the kinds of personal data to catch and the placeholder to write in their place. Policy then applies the rule to prompts and responses alike. Call the policy check on sample text to test the rule before you send real prompts through it.

Impact

Policy returns the test prompt about Mireille Lacroix with her social security number replaced by [REDACTED:ssn].

Prompt for a coding agent: Redact social security numbers from prompts and responses, and test the rule first.

Cap AI spending for each project, team, or user

Set a monthly budget for your support team and a daily budget for each person on it. Once one person's spending reaches the daily figure, Policy rejects that person's next AI request with an error message that your application can display. The API reports spending against every budget in real time.

Impact

The most that the team can spend on AI in a month equals its monthly budget.

Answer audit requests with ready-to-export logs

Filter the policy log by date, by the kind of personal data, or by the action that Policy takes. An export includes summary counts of the requests that Policy redacts, blocks, or modifies.

Impact

The sample gathers the redactions from 250 log entries, each with its rule, severity, and findings, into one summary that Konstantin Volkov can review for Saskwood Forestry.

Prompt for a coding agent: Summarize the redactions in the last 250 policy log entries for the audit.

Keep AI on-topic with custom blocking rules

Write a rule that lists the topics to refuse and the message to send back. When a prompt matches one of those topics, Policy stops the request before the model call and returns your message.

Impact

Policy blocks the question about suing a landlord as legal advice, so the Coppice Foods sample stops with an error at the policy check.

Prompt for a coding agent: Block questions that ask for legal advice, and reply with our own message.
